It is a wild and mysterious world.

Contemplative Design explores the art and science of contemplative practices. A contemplative practice is anything that turns our attention towards ourselves and our own experience. Theses practices help us to understand ourselves better, and to develop qualities like wisdom, inner calm, joy, and compassion.

Many contemplative practices come to us by way of religious, spiritual, and philosophical traditions––but the wisdom they contain can be relevant for everyone.

My curiosity in writing this blog is to explore how practices shape our lives: our thoughts, emotions, sense of who I am, our understanding of what I'm doing in life.

To find understanding across diverse practices––from meditation to labyrinth walking to catholic confession to communal dances––I bring in the frameworks of empirical sciences like physics and neuroscience, as well as experience design and psychology.

The videos presented here are free to use in any educational setting.

I hope these help you explore contemplative practice, and rekindle a sense of awe at just how wonder-full the universe is.

Finally, I want to say that these videos are intended as explorations, not definitive truths. They arose out of my own curiosity and passion for exploring the world and human experience, and are also shaped and biased by my own worldviews and upbringing.
